Focus on education
The Principal at Dayton Woods is a strong supporter of the Simulated Congressiopnal Hearings program
One of the best things I got to do as a Delegate was give Opening Talks to the fifth grades on Simulated Congressional Hearings Day
The 5th grade teachers dress up for Simulated Congressional Hearning Days
On Opening Day, elected officials are invited to come and welcome the kids into a new year.
You may wonder what I'm doing. I took this photo for part of my Opening Day Talks. When I show and tell the 5th graders that Maryland laws fill THIS MANY BOOKS they are amazed.
Here I get to sample the fun new seating for our youngest students.
Would you believe it? My first year as a Delegate I had FIVE Grandkids in Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School, and I got to visit each of their classes!
This is Hanna, my kindergartner
This is Lily, my second grader.
This is Liam, my third grader.
This is Willa, my fourth grader.
This is Skylar, my fifth grader. She did great in her Simulated Congressional Hearing later in the year.
ALL of the teachers were wonderful, sharing their classrooms and teachings with me.

SIMULATED CONGRESSIONAL HEARING DAY. This panel includes my granddaughter. Some panels are as small as four students, but every student presents and every student answers questions. The most fun part for the "Judges" is when we get to tell them all of the positive things we heard them say. And we always have MANY of those.
