DIGITAL LEARNING

14.     MSEA believes in the collaborative development of digital learning plans that are living documents, changing as circumstances require.  These plans should view technology as a tool to enhance and enrich student learning rather than a reform that usurps educators and the teaching profession.  Expansion of digital learning requires equity for every student; support and enhanced professional development for all educators; and a blended approach of technology and traditional forms of delivering education for all students.  Do you support or oppose MSEA’s policy statement with regards to digital learning?

_____         Support

_____         Oppose

Additional Comments:

Maximizing our use of the tools that two decade long technological revolution have provided is a must.  I agree that how these tools are used should be done thoughtfully. -- expeditiously, but not carelessly.  Teachers are never going to be "replaced" by computers, or any other technology, and I know that most teachers will actively embrace the potential to dramatically increase their effectiveness through the use of technology, and look for the best way to integrate the learning.
